ART: The country’s largest art exposition Art Toronto fills the Metro Convention Centre this weekend, celebrating its tenth anniversary with a focus on the contemporary Canadian art scene, a flagship project called "Heartland." The massive international art fair opens tonight with a big fundraising preview to benefit the Art Gallery of Ontario. The rest of the riffraff get to experience the more than five thousand works of art beginning tomorrow (through October 26). Don’t miss the Gladstone’s off-site upArt contemporary Art Fair, reached from the Convention Centre via York University’s unconventional Performance Bus. Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building Exhibit Halls A and B (255 Front Street West), 6:30 p.m., $190 (AGO Benefit); Public Opening: Friday 12 p.m., $18.

What do you think of Vice Magazine, readers? Do you like it or hate it?

And so the penultimate day of the festival ends. To be honest, it really does almost feel like day nine was kind of the final day; certainly for press and industry, anyway. All of the press screenings end by the afternoon, and it’s the last day the press office and the video tape library are open all day. We had a fairly quiet day, filling in some films that we didn’t get a chance to see in the festival until now, before hitting the Peter Mettler Elsewhere event and the Midnight Madness. We heard that there was a Vice Magazine party on, but we also heard something ridiculous like it was held in an abandoned factory that was on fire.

Horrible. Shocking. Cronyism. Unappealing. What's with the outfit on Pam Coburn's son? What exactly was he wearing during her press conference yesterday? Moreover, what was he thinking?

Yesterday, our PM with the same initials admits he needs to focus more on specific issues for the upcoming year. In contrast, Ontario Health Minister George Smitherman admits nothing.

An appearance by Vice Magazine cohort Pat Buchanan is heavily rumoured, since Vice founder Gavin McInnes is all best friends with the RW fanatic now. Buchanan was in fact spotted at the Houston, Texas stop of the trendy tour, singing along to DFA1979's "Black History Month". Of course, in keeping with Vice Magazine style guide, Mr Buchanan was being ironic.
