The Dufferin Jog—that railway underpass at Dufferin and Queen—has long been considered a public art icon in Toronto. It's just that the public art it's displayed has been graffiti and paste-ups rather than municipally chosen sculpture.

Toronto photographer Arnaud Maggs grabbed the headlines by being awarded the GG prize for Visual Arts. Maggs is best known for work like his "mugshot" series shown here, but his most recent series is a vivid exploration of colour inspired by 19th century colour guides, colour wheels and more. Torontoist also wants to point out that a few other Torontonians brought home the hardware from Rideau Hall.

Two major art fairs in town this week mean that it'll be hard to wander around Toronto without hitting an artist, critic, art dealer, patron or hanger on of some sort.
