Weekend Planner: September 5–6, 2009

AIR: If you thought it was noisy this afternoon, not to mention yesterday, get ready—that was just the warm-up. Vipers, Hawks, Griffons, Hornets, Raptors, and a bunch of guys whose names begin with the letter “M” salute you from the sky every afternoon this Labour Day weekend. The Canadian Forces’ Snowbirds and the United States Navy Blue Angels headline the Canadian International Air Show, now in its sixtieth year. The Angels return after a twenty-five-year absence from the noise we mean, spectacular. Other than following our coverage from the Air Show, the best place to see the action is anywhere along the lakeshore near the CNE. Lakefront at Marilyn Bell Park, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 12:30–4:30 p.m., FREE or $15 for CNE admission.
