DCist caught up with the dapper gents and ladies who took to the streets in high style for the D.C. Tweed Ride.

• Chicagoist revelled in the beauty of its city in autumn.
• Gothamist had a week of big stories unfold—Mayor Bloomberg narrowly won his controversial third term while the Yankees won their twenty-seventh World Series Championship (yes, suck it, Philly) and celebrated with a ticker-tape parade.
• Seattlest talked about gay marriage, performing, and the sexiness of the Pacific Northwest with Rufus Wainwright.

• Londonist attended a vigil against hate crimes, prompted by the recent death of the victim of a homophobic attack.
• Phillyist was all about the World Series this week: hating on the opposing team, waxing nostalgic, and generally getting psyched. Although the Phillies trail the Yankees one game to two in the Series, Phillyist remains optimistic: they have God on their side.
• DCist visited the Washington Humane Society to get some ridiculously adorable photos of some of the pets currently there waiting to be adopted.

Phillyist watched MLB.com call it too soon before celebrating the Phillies' second consecutive trip to the World Series. Sorry, LAist—but at least you still have one hometown team in contention.

• Chicagoist made a pair of great discoveries this week: entertaining graffiti at a University of Chicago library and a treasure trove of old street photography.
• Gothamist looked at how some local stores seem to be encouraging little girls to dress in slutty Halloween costumes.
• DCist wondered whether city bus drivers were overreacting by deciding to drive "by the book" after a series of gruesome accidents involving pedestrians.

Gothamist was part amazed and part horrified by this crazed fight between a taxi driver and pedicab driver.

• Gothamist found out that the same fish has been residing in a Queens pet store's fish tank for the past forty-one years. Also, his name is Buttkiss.
• Shanghaiist found out that somebody (possibly government related) is sending journalists in China targeted malware-ridden emails, though they haven't figured out why yet.
• Seattlest enjoyed the songs and F-bombs of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia live show.

• DCist captured images of the twenty-two "ghost bikes," bicycles that are painted white as a memorial to cyclists who have been killed while riding, that were placed by an activist around the same intersection where a previous "ghost bike" was recently removed by the city.
• Chicagoist scoped out the spectacle, the crowds, and the madness surrounding Oprah's twenty-fourth season premiere, which shut down a stretch of the famed Magnificent Mile (a.k.a. Michigan Avenue) and sent some residents and city officials into a tizzy.
• Gothamist had mixed feelings about a video showing a would-be bicycle thief getting a serious beatdown from the bike's owner and his friends—the lesson is: do not steal bikes, bro!

Gothamist was amazed that former Giants star Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty and will face two years in prison for charges related to the November incident where he brought an illegal gun into a Manhattan nightclub and accidentally shot himself because the gun was falling down his pants.

Londonist witnessed unecessary tabloid shock at the languages spoken by some of London's children.

• Gothamist found out that "heroin-addicted hobos from around the country" are camping out in trendy Williamsburg. One deli owner complained to a local newspaper: "They could take a nice hot bath. One kid comes in and the whole store will be smelling for hours."
• Bostonist exposed Yelp's geographic confusion while pondering the history of hipster hatred.
• Shanghaiist commemorated Michael Jackson's death a little late but with flash mob style.

• LAist learned there is no easier way to draw ire than to assert that Transformers 2 is "significantly, significantly worse" than its predecessor, and that if you must go see it, you should "fart loudly and repeatedly in the theater so that everyone's good time is ruined."
• DCist was shocked when a Metro train collided with a waiting train at a high speed, killing nine people and injuring dozens of other. An investigation is underway, and the NTSB has said that Metro's use of older model rail cars may have made the crash deadlier than it otherwise would have been.
• Gothamist has now seen it all: an SUV driver, who allegedly assaulted a cyclist, apparently claimed the cyclist caused damage to his SUV—you know, because the cyclist slapped the vehicle since it was illegally in a bike lane, about to hit the cyclist.

• Shanghaiist watched plainclothes police with umbrellas (literally) try to cover up any attempts to report on the Tienanmen anniversary.
• Gothamist was mesmerized by the amazing story of a cat who survived a 26-story fall from a lower Manhattan apartment building. And the cat's name is Lucky!
• SFist asked members of the gastronomic elite to reveal their favorite junk food.

• LAist had a whirlwind of a week regarding the upholding of Prop 8, prompting various protests and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to call the state "fundamentally broken." Case in point: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed cutting all welfare and four-fifths of state parks from the budget after voters rejected a number of deficit solutions.
• SFist, as expected, also tried recovering from the shock of this week's Prop. 8 ruling.
• Phillyist dined out with young'uns.

• Gothamist observed the intense reaction to two very different things—a public art project involving knitting and a woman's unfortunate encounter with a subway pervert.
• Londonist, feeling distinctly peckish, enjoyed a gourmet breakfast, the "best pizza outside of Italy," a Brick Lane curry, and some bathtub-cooked salmon.
• Phillyist was pleased by the announcement of the colours, logo, and name for Philadelphia's new MLS team: the Union.

• Gothamist's week started off with a slight shock—the Boeing 747 that's used as Air Force One, plus military fighter jets, flew without warning over lower Manhattan, causing people to evacuate buildings. It turned out to be a badly planned photo op for White House files, and the FAA told local and state authorities not to tell the public.
• DCist couldn't help noting the timing of the announcement of the first cases of swine flu in the D.C. area with word that PETA had requested a permit to set up a real life hog farm on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
• Shanghaiist found the World Expo 2010 theme song to have a lot of unnecessary, if kind of hilarious, over-dancing.

• LAist was just getting over Coachella when they found this video of a naked would-be wizard getting tasered by cops at the concert.
• DCist wasn't crazy about a local magazine cover that featured a Photoshopped, shirtless President Obama.
• Shanghaiist explored one of the city's largest Muslim markets and stuffed themselves with lamb and pilaf.

• Gothamist was amused when Woody Allen's lawsuit against American Apparel (the clothing retailer used his image in an ad) and other accusations led American Apparel to demand nude pictures of his former lover's daughter-turned-wife.
• LAist discovered that little kids on spring break enjoy spending their time tea-bagging.
• Chicagoist was far more enamored with the amateur strip contest "So You Think You Can Strip"—semifinals and finals—than they were with the local tea-bagging.

• Gothamist watched as a New School University building was once again occupied by protesters who were soon arrested by police. The cops claimed they didn't use pepper spray, but a video suggests otherwise.
• Phillyist tried to proofread this sign but gave up.
• Seattlest saw Dan Savage's campaign for mayor take a walk, then savored the first Ken Griffey, Jr. home run of the season.

• Gothamist was intrigued by the Sad Panda seen walking around Manhattan.
• DCist couldn't help but notice that the Obamas' plan to give away tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll entirely online didn't go so well.
• Londonist discussed the what, why, who, and where of the protests surrounding the forthcoming G20 summit.

• Londonist spent far too long playing with the newly launched Google Street View for London and looking out for some of the more amusing sights.
• Chicagoist watched a video of a group of Guardian Angels detaining a graffiti tagger, and a debate raged as to whether the Angels used excessive force.
• Phillyist really digs roller derby.

• Londonist got its hands dirty cleaning up the Thames.
• LAist has been keeping a close watch on local legend Nadya Suleman, a.k.a. OctoMom, and has this hilarious video of her giving birth.

• LAist saw how messy things can get when a naked suicidal man climbed atop a large cross and spent a few hours up there, hanging out and, well, pooping.
