Canstage's heavily-hyped season-ending production of The Rocky Horror Show has finally opened at the Bluma. Last season, they finished things off with "revolutionary" 60s musical Hair, and this year they have opted for one of the 70s' key "revolutionary" musicals. Fortunately for the audiences, Rocky is an infinitely superior show to Hair in almost every way: the songs are catchier, the characters more memorable, the plot more engaging and Canstage's production, helmed by Ted Dyskstra (co-creator of 2 Pianos, 4 Hands and Toronto's Hedwig), is significantly more finessed.

Madonna's new promo push, as discussed in today's Star and by Paved.ca's star blogger, has spun out of the groove locally. The mass-marketing of the underwear-wearing 40-something has garnered lots of talk, and lots of dissmissals, from just about everywhere. It's not that the promotional flavour is overly sour (40 is the new 60, and Ms Ritchie looks good in leotard), but it might be too strong a taste even for her. This stretch-limo idea is a stretch in itself, and the Madge-themed club nights seem self-congratulatory in the wake a club single that would be played in those clubs regardless.

television commercials and the (sadly) cruelly over-airbrushed Susan Sarandon print campaign, is making a weekend trip to Mississauga seem worthwhile. It’s the company’s enormous Spring Warehouse Sale until Sunday, open to the public with 80% off the already so-cheap retail prices. Torontoist can’t promise transformations into Eva Mendes or Halle, and recommends (no matter what the fashion rags proclaim) steering clear of glittering baby blue eyeshadow.
