Once a month Torontoist would like to encourage you to drag yourself off the couch and across the room to that nice, comfy swivel chair in front of your computer, to experience something from the wonderful world of streaming. Anyone who's visited YouTube or eBaum's World knows how gratifying watching two Asian kids lipsynch to Jessica Simpson can be! So in the interest of expanding your horizons (or at least giving you some way to kill time at the office without actually having to do any work), we'll find some interesting, funny, or just plain stupid and entertaining way to amuse yourself with your computer (without the need for pornography).

Torontoist lowered its guns on Dundas Square when we heard about Transmedia's 29:59 project that has video art taking over one of the video billboards in the square.
There is a beautiful quote about Myfawny Ashmore's art installation, Mario Battle No. 1. You may or may not be familiar with the piece. The first level of Super Mario Brothers is hacked to remove all game objects other than Mario, leaving nothing but the ground he walks on. You, as the player, are left to interact with his almost completely featureless world and take Mario for a walk. The beauty lies here -
Hasn't there always been more eclecticism in underground music than at street level? For instance, consider the idea of rodents running free on the sidewalk, along side shoppers and street vendors. It just wouldn't happen. Underground, though, people are more accepting of the mousey population. And the more open-minded the environment, the more diverse the spoils. Case in point, subway music.
