Nettwerk's Terry McBrideToronto may be the business capital of Canada, but it's often an old dog with few new tricks. We also uncomfortably proclaim ourselves the cultural capital, not because Southern Ontario has much of its own, but because we import the most from elsewhere.

Torontoist enjoyed Stuart Berman's interview in this week's eye, pitting Max McCabe-Lokos (the Deadly Snakes) and Bry Webb (the Constantines).We're not taking sides in this little "tiff" but we'll gladly go and watch either band this weekend at the Horseshoe. But enough of the friendliness of Canada's indie scene, we think that underneath all this collegiality and 'pat-on-the back' we're all in this together joviality there's some real rage.

When you’re toting your laptop around and want to fire off a couple emails and post a blog update, Toronto is a pretty desolate place. Canadian Starbucks locations are not Wi-Fi enabled, though our neighbors to the south are able to buy access accounts that work in locations all over the country. Coffee chain Second cup, is now teasing the geek set with free hotspots.
