After decades of being situated as an icon of Queen Street West, it has been revealed that Citytv will be moving to a new high-profile location: Dundas Square.

Late last week, the CRTC ordered CTVglobemedia to sell off the five Citytv properties it acquired in its purchase of CHUM Ltd., because CTV already operates over-the-air stations in those markets (Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg). This morning it was announced that Rogers Media would be purchasing those stations for $375 million, because it's apparently not a problem for them to have more than one over-the-air station in a given market.

Blue Jay ownership - also known as Rogers Media - have announced plans for a revamping of the once astonishing Skydome. The building, purchased last fall, will undergo renovations starting with an immediate change of name to the Rogers Centre. A change hoped to separate the team from the unpopular stigma attached to the dogged ballpark.

It cost six hundred million in taxpayer dollars to construct, but now just a decade and a half later the Skydome has been sold for the rock-bottom price of $25 million. This marks the third time the dumb-looking sports facility has exchanged hands, with the owner of the inhabiting Blue Jays, Rogers Media, taking over. The real estate alone has to be worth that money. Really, Ted Rogers should move the Jays back to Exhibition Stadium and sell the building that resembles a giant testicle to Donald Trump.
