FESTIVAL: The Canadian National Exhibition is back and bigger than ever this year. Along with the usual carnival rides, games, and snacks, there will be an outdoor acrobatic and pyrotechnic circus performance, equestrian shows, an escape artist, and the always-popular IAMS SuperDogs Show. Visitors can also get a preview of new state-of-the-art TTC subway cars set to debut in 2010, which will be on display in front of the Direct Energy Centre for the duration of the CNE. Plus, if you go tonight, you'll be treated to a live performance by Q107 deejay (and uh, rock star) Kim Mitchell. Exhibition Place (100 Princes' Boulevard), 10 a.m.–10 p.m., $14.

On April 1, Radiohead asked their fans to remix "Nude," one of the tracks from 2007's In Rainbows. Fans could buy any or all of the five "stems" of the song (voice, guitar, bass, strings/FX, or drums), create a version of their own, and upload it to radioheadremix.com.

This week's listings offer quite the myriad of options for all you concert-goers, from Nada Surf at the Opera House this evening to the Music Gallery's fundraiser with Swedish sweetheart Jens Lekman, Final Fantasy, and Katie Stelmanis tomorrow at the Great Hall. Wednesday, April 9 offers both The Dodos at El Mocambo and a sold-out New Pornographers/Okkervil River show at the Phoenix. Pas Chic Chic (a French side project from members of Godspeed! You Black Emperor) play at the Drake on Thursday, April 10. And on Friday, April 11, Madlib plays Wrongbar and Thunderheist, Bonjay, and Vitamins for You play Lee's Palace—a lineup almost as good as last year's Thunderheist and Bonjay NXNE showcase alongside Lesbians on Ecstasy and Yo Majesty.

According to MuchMusic, Radiohead is on the verge of confirming details about their stop in Toronto––expected to be August 15 at the Molson Ampitheatre. The stop, on the second half of Radiohead's tour, comes in the wake of their latest album In Rainbows, which is neither the best album ever, nor the best album of last year (hello, Boxer), but is still pretty wonderful.

A brief stint of Radiohead concert rumours spread like wildfires last week. Ticketmaster had announced that the band would play two shows on May 26 and 27 at the Air Canada Centre, but mentioned neither the date for the tickets to go on sale nor the price of the tickets themselves—the announcement was quickly removed from the site. This is not the first time Ticketmaster has announced a Radiohead show that did not exist, and most knew the ticket-selling mongrels were wrong, as both Greenplastic and W.A.S.T.E. (the two most reliable Radiohead news sources) announced a small batch of US dates to come in May with the remainder of (unannounced) North American dates to follow Radiohead’s summer tour of the UK and Europe. With accurate Canadian dates sure to be released any day now, Musicologist recommends relying on both Greenplastic and W.A.S.T.E. for pre-sale opportunities.

Oh yes.

When the weather is this shit the best thing to do is either hang out with friends at someone's house and tie one on, or go see a flick or two. Last night was time for the latter and the film was Rock The Bells. The film takes a funny, behind the scenes look at the trials and tribulations faced by a promoter trying to book the entire Wu Tang Clan for a live show. Can you say Big Baby Jesus Shaolin crackrock? And as the weather continues so does the rest of Resfest. Tonight at 7 there's a screening of A Decade of Resfest: 10 Seminal Shorts From The Past Decade, Saturday's got a cool Radiohead Retrospective at 5pm and a should be very interesting lecture by filmmaker Dougal Wilson at 7pm, while Sunday night there's a Cancon Shorts and Music Video screening at 7pm followed by The Vice Guide To Travel at 8:30.

Does it seem a bit outrageous that NOW Magazine is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year? That blurry photo? That is a 1997 cover featuring Radiohead. Perhaps this Torontoist thought it only came into existence when our escape from the suburbs was made possible by later curfews and a driver's license. Well, the festivities are afoot and the fashion department is taking it to the streets with NOW's Designer Challenge. Designers are being asked to sketch a dress - made exclusively of NOW Magazine newsprint. It'll probably chafe and get newsprint in places that are hard to reach and rinse, but the 10 finalists will have their dresses displayed in shops all around the city right up until the November birthday shindig, when one winner will receive a $1,000 grand prize. For all the details, check out this week's Now Magazine located on every other street corner in the city.

Now, I'm no meteorologist, but that, my friends, is hail.

one song on repeat for the entire night. The first, a Just "Ace of Spades" night was covered extensively over at Zoilus. Last night was Just "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, and spontaneous head-banging did occur. TOist missed the first three hours but figured it was pretty much the same as the hour we spent at The Boat listening to Bohemian Rhapsody over and over and over and over and over and over again. All for a good cause of course: The money went to the AIDS Committee of Toronto.

There is just so much good music to be found online and much of it as free and legal downloads. That's what Torontoist wants to share with you in these Le Mercredi Mixtapes and that's what *sixeyes share as well. So many artists, bands, and indie music labels offer mp3s that you could live in front of your monitor searching for new music. And Torontoist does.... here's what we've been living on lately.

Everyone is a bit sluggish and fat after such a nice holiday, so excuse our tardiness. You might not realise it, but you are probably much fatter than you were a month ago. Torontoist is not ashamed to say we got fat. But it's okay, all our fat went to our booty. On the subject of booty's, you can shake yours tonight at the Cloak and Dagger Pub (394 College), where the Mercredi Mixtape extends late into the night to become L'après-heures Mixtape. Enjoy the selections today, fatty.
