Reader Jonathan recently let us know about a trip he took to Ottawa and back via (cue dramatic music) Porter Airlines. That's right, the airline of the infamous island airport. It's no secret that we have been less than enthusiastic about airport expansion, of which Porter Air's operation has become the most prominent example. That being said, it's worth noting that Jonathan's review could not have been more glowing: Wow! Flying is amazing! I think......

Mayor Miller is announcing today that there will be a major competition to redesign Nathan Phillips Square. Olivia Chow wants her colleagues in Ottawa to stay away from Porter Air. The upstart airline is starting flights on October 23rd. A fire broke out in a Humane society foster home early this morning. A brave boyfriend saved many of the animals but sadly two cats died. Higher residential property taxes has 905ers pissed off at......

All we know is that Jazz, which has used the Island Airport for over 16 years, has been denied service by the TPA. Nonetheless the TPA is still allowing Porter Air to start its raccoon-inspired service in the fall. We don't......

We know it's hot out there. It's so hot that last night was on record as the hottest night in Toronto ever. According to electricity companies we were just shy of the power record yesterday so keep up the good work everyone, don't do stupid things like blast your air conditioner and open your windows. Heck, try to avoid the A/C all together. A Coffee Time in Scarborough was trashed and robbed by rowdy......

Contrary to popular belief Torontoist actually likes a good animal story. So we're really happy to see not one but two of 'em this morning. A protective pair of Canada Geese has taken up residency outside Sherway Gardens mall in Etobicoke. The male and female are protecting a nest of eggs and will hiss and attack shoppers who get too close. Every six months or so there's a really great raccoon story in this city......
