Every weekday morning, bright and early, we feature a photo (or two) from a photographer in the Torontoist Flickr Pool. Every weekday, we pick an image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! The impact resulting from high dynamic range imaging (HDR) certainly doesn't make it a stranger to Photoist. But often times the transformation it does to subtle details can be overwhelming by turning multiple elements into focal points. The impressive void photographed......

Every weekday, we pick an image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Perhaps we're a little ROM-obsessed at the Photoist, but who can blame us when the line-up for free guided tour tickets was upwards of an hour during the first weekend of Luminato. Those who were patient enough were able to steal......

Click any of the photos to view them larger. Like much of Toronto, we've been a little ROMsessed this week with the opening of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, and now that the public has been allowed in for a peek while it's empty (until June 10), some fantastic photos continue to be added to the Torontoist Flickr pool. With all the hype around our jagged new conversation piece, what tickles us most is how......

Okay, we fibbed. The image in yesterday's Daily Photoist of an airship docked to the Canada Life building was totally fake, made in Photoshop by our own Marc Lostracco. (Every other bit of information in the post was true, we swear!) Why? Well, our sister site across the pond, Londonist, has been running a regular feature called Touch Up London since last summer. Londonist asked their readers to create fake mock-ups of the city......

As noted in today's Daily Photoist, it's a big week for the Royal Ontario Museum, with the public unveiling of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal days away. Will any of the displays added to the new galleries over the next year wrest the claim of "most unusual exhibition" title from today's ad? Probably, since Animals in Art's claim appears to be hanging artwork in the ROM instead of, say, the Art Gallery of Ontario. The......

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Yesterday, we featured the Toronto FC in the Daily Photoist, but we can't forget how spring also reveals our Boys of Summer. This minimalist shot of Jays centrefielder Vernon Wells was captured by dave_in_t_o, and we like how it......

Each weekday morning(ish), we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Just over six months ago, we featured Torontogal Photos's work as one of our very first Daily Photoist. Her shot of a police officer leaning over (and almost off of) his horse was a great way to kick off......

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Today we're trying something a little different with The Daily Photoist by featuring two images by different photographers. The two were added to our Flickr pool at roughtly the same time, and each takes a decidedly different approach to......

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Feel like you're seeing double? We've chosen the same subject matter for today's Photoist as we did yesterday. It's an interesting study in contrast. Here, Torontoist Flickr pool member redmann (Ian A. Fraser) contributes his take on the ROM's......

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Signs like the one above, captured by Torontoist Flickr pool member bitefight, are disappearing all over the city, which is sad. Who doesn't love them? There's something about the proportional imperfections in the hand-painted letters that coverys far more......

Each weekday morning, we pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! Toronto photographer Metrix X (Ryan) has contributed more images to the Torontoist Flickr Group than any other person. We're experimenting with a new daily photo posting. Each weekday morning, we'll pick a recent image from the Torontoist Flickr Pool and feature it here on the site. It's our way to give the many excellent photographers in our pool the attention they deserve! We intentionally left this photo by Robannz (Marc Robin) out of the weekly roundup so we could feature it here in The Daily Photoist. There's great textures and colours here --......

Most people go thrift shopping for their latest fashions. However for any Photoist, we believe there is more to be had if you look in the right place. Some of our latest finds include a box of slides from a 50's UK vacation for a dollar at Goodwill and a set of close up filters at Value Village. These places are great for old kitch and photo accessories if you're willing to sift. We're......
