FILM: NFB presents the world premiere of Saskatchewan film A Year at Sherbrooke tonight. The film records the experience of artists Thelma Pepper and Jeff Nachtigall working with residents at the Sherbrooke Community Centre, a long-term care facility in Saskatoon. Through the eyes of the visiting artists, the film explores the healing power of art in the lives of the disabled. NFB Mediatheque (150 John Street), 7 p.m., $6, $4 for students, seniors, or NFB members.

MUSIC: Tough call on shows tonight, so here are three worth checking out: Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward's folk duo She and Him play the Opera House with Freakwater (735 Queen Street East, doors at 8 p.m., $23.50). Dance-pop group The Black Ghosts play Wrongbar (1279 Queen Street West, doors at 9 p.m., $10). And last but not least, King Khan & the Shrines play the first of two shows at the Horseshoe Tavern, and honestly, if you aren't going to see King Khan tonight, you should sure as hell try to see them tomorrow; it's going to be unbelievable (370 Queen Street West, doors at 8:30 p.m., $10/$12 at door).
