Each week, Torontoist examines the upcoming TV listings and makes note of programs that are entertaining, informative and of quality. Or, alternately, none of those. The result: Televisualist.

Warren Kinsella has a diatribe in today’s Post (that’s National, not Midtown) about trashy celeb magazines. Their circulation is up, Time’s circulation is down, more people care about P. Diddy than national politics, yada yada yada. At the end he encourages us to "pick up quite a few more copies of The Economist and U.S. News and World Report. And the National Post, naturally."

, given to Torontoist for review, contains scant amounts of the aforementioned ingredients. Not to say this is the Vince Carter of Mountain Goats albums - it's a good album and will receive a generous mark in our review - but there is a certain weirdness that plagues Mr Darnielle's most emotional output.

Or some variation thereupon, when said comedian channels his alter ego, Danny Husk, a hard-workin' fashion journalist who'll be doing weekly 'Investigative Report' segments for City TV's Fashion Television. This Danny Husk character will bring us a series of fashion bits, which come off as the Daily Show meets Ali G meets Anchorman. And based on the teaser we watched, TOist is curious. "He's a Straight Man. Asking Hard Questions," says the release. And he gets kicked out of the tents. And seduces Bijoux Phillips. And somehow convinces P. Diddy there's a fire in his brand new store. Starts Sunday on City TV.
