“You can try to take away my coffees and my creams. Go ahead. I’m still here. I’m still going to get re-elected." Councillors Giorgio Mammoliti and Paul Ainslie scrapped it out yesterday in city hall over free coffee. The delicious roasted bean elixir is offered free to city councillors and costs taxpayers $20,000 per year. The Art Gallery of Ontario announced a landmark donation of $10-million from twenty of Toronto's most prominent Italian-Canadian families.The......

Alanis Morissette has done the impossible and turned the Black Eyed Peas' "My Humps" into a legitimately good song. Sure, we may be the last people in the universe to write about this (the video was uploaded just yesterday, and it's already been featured everywhere from Perez to Pitchfork), but we can't get over how much better her rendition is. Don't even front like they don't. They also have Dorito bananas and white guys shopping for wives. What they don't have is any more tolerance for jaywalkers. Bostonist sees Boston and Somerville each whip out their art and face off. A plagiarized novel is the......

By virtue of the world wide web, Neil Young's famous 1973 concert recording, Time Fades Away, is now available in digital format. Online petitions abound, the classic Young performance has been mythologized as one of the greatest live performances not for sale - supposedly on par with Dylan's Newport performance since Young peeved off the audience with his song choices (ie. not playing Harvest). The songs can be heard right here Other notable unreleased......

The Grey Cup half-time show must have deeply affected the Prime Minister, as he quoted lead singer Fergie yesterday to kick off a re-election campaign. Martin, not known for this level of exhuberance, took the chorus from the Black Eyed Peas "Let's Get It Started" when he exhuberantly exclaimed, "Let's Get Start [It] Started" before a wild crowd of Liberals and Liberal-supporters. Martin was present for the controversial half-time performance, which featured booty-bass driven "My......
