Forget death and taxes: the one real constant in life is breathy local news coverage of almost any kind of weather. Watching TV news reporters acting bewildered by temperature fluctuations or any amount of precipitation, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the giant dome that has maintained the city's perfect 21° year-round weather for hundreds of years had just broken down, letting sandstorms, radiation, and monsters invade the city from the post-apocalyptic wasteland that surrounds it.

Starting September 1, the Hamilton television station known as CH will be rebranded as E! Entertainment Television. E! is an American entertainment and lifestyle cable broadcaster best known for its wildly successful E! True Hollywood Story series.
Because there are only a handful of Canadians in the NCAA, (and who really cares about college basketball, anyway?) we thought we'd cook up a little March Madness of our own - Toronto style. The company behind the venture that Eye called foolish (and we reported on a few weeks earlier) is trying to get the Public Space committee on side, and trying to underplay the scope of their plans, but we're just not excited about their offers of 'Live local news from CityTV, updated regularly throughout the day.' Doesn't the TTC know that wall clocks are ridiculously cheap these days? In fact, TOist will spring for one for our local station, if it means we can avoid live TTC trivia.
