Rumours are flying about Led Zeppelin potentially playing the Rogers Centre this summer. (See Torontoist's breaking post from last weekend here.) Let Torontoist give you a sneak preview: the tickets, targeted for an aging boomer base with money to burn, will be insanely expensive; the band will give a competent but unremarkable performance that will have every paper exclaiming in an enormous font "THEY'VE STILL GOT IT!" when in truth they only barely have anything resembling "it"; and somewhere, zombie John Bonham will shed a single tear.

Big news! According to MuchMusic's (quite reliable) blog, Led Zeppelin will be in Toronto in August to play (and, we assume, easily sell out) four dates at the Rogers Centre. No other details have yet been leaked.
With music download trends showing that the coveted male 18–24 demographic is more interested in the music of their ancestors than anything current, music store HMV is dropping CD prices on oldies like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. HMV hopes that the move will convince young men to abandon the web and start stealing from retail stores again.
Australian 70's-arena-rock-inspired Wolfmother created some buzz last week when they were in town for a soldout show at the Kool Haus, as well as a brief performance at the Indie Awards. We're a little late reporting on it (blame CMW), but last Tuesday's show was nothing short of a marathon set, if we've ever seen one.
