The word on the street is that the hottest ticket in town is The American Astronaut, screening tonight at Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex) as part of U of T Cinema Studies Student Union’s Free Friday Film. Screening in 35mm, this black and white sci-fi western rock opera is “the best thing ever” according to Todd Brown from Twitch Film.

Pontiac Quarterly, "Toronto's preeminent live-action literary and arts journal," drops another issue tonight. And once again, you don't have to bother with that pesky reading thing, or deal with any circulation problems out of Kansas City. All you need do is bring your ears to the Drake to hear, see and experience this, their virginity-themed issue. Past issues have also included soundtracks by Kieran Grant and illustrations by Tyler Clarke Burke. Plus you don't have to contend with the whole 'do-i-recycle-this-pretty-magazine-that-i've-already-read-or-do-i-keep-it-like-the-packrat-that-i-am' thing. $10, 8 pm.
