Scandinavian Airlines says that they will permanently ground their fleet of Canadian-made Bombardier Q400 turboprops following three accidents involving problems with landing gear. In response, Bombardier will no longer market the plane as the Q400 Skid.

Toronto police chief says it's not right to scare the public by suggesting spending cuts to the police force. Yesterday, the first in a series of public meetings with the United States Coast Guard resulted in the suspention of live-fire machine gun drills on the Great Lakes until greater safety and environmental inquiries are made.

What colour alert is this? United States Homeland Security is cracking down on blogger threats - or at least business and technology bloggers. Customs officials detained, strip searched, and ultimately refused entry to Toronto blogger Jeremy Wright before a flight to New York City last Wednesday. Tough U.S. customs questioned Wright for almost three hours, causing him to miss his flight. Officials apparently did not recognize 'pro-blogging' as a career (perhaps they read the eye article?). Wright, of the business-minded Ensight.org, was going to the States to see about expanding his blogging empire. Yikes.
