MUSIC: The Canadian Music Café is held in conjunction with TIFF every year to help get Canadian music noticed by the international media in Toronto for the festival. This year, fifteen Canadian artists and groups will take to the stage at the Hard Rock Cafe on Yonge Street in hopes of snagging that elusive film deal that will get their music on the big screen and hopefully into viewers' iTunes after the show. Some of the performers are already known names, like Hawksley Workman and Amy Millian (both playing on Thursday), but most of them are more obscure or up-and-comers. Today, Stef Lang, Spiral Beach, Emma-Lee, Winter Gloves, and Jets Overhead will be playing. Hard Rock Cafe (279 Yonge Street), 1–5 p.m. daily until Thursday, FREE.

The Toronto edition of Hip-Hop Karaoke celebrates its second birthday at Revival tonight, and its organizers are experiencing anything but the terrible twos. For one thing, most two-year-olds don't have Maestro Fresh Wes perform at their birthday parties.

ART: Some of the artists who recently turned their attention to a touch of tush are now having a go at "Bugs." Nancy Draws, Runt, Sam Ferrara, Vesna Mostovac, Fiona Smyth, Serge Fortin, and Joey DAMMIT! place our numerous nefarious nemeses under a microscope and examine our love-hate relationship with them. Since its opening last October, Wrongbar has been a blessing to the Parkdale area. This Friday, it'll be hosting the second edition of the Stone's Throw Move Toronto party. The respected California indie hip hop and funk label will be sending off one of its biggest stars as Madlib spins a set. One half of Madvillian and Jaylib, Madlib also releases records under his Quasimoto guise. He will be joined by label mates Egon and Jamie Strong.
