Wee Willie of Wiarton, Ontario can sure cast a long shadow. Not this year though—yesterday was Groundhog Day and Willie says we’re in for an early spring. While the weather predictions of an albino groundhog may not be entirely accurate, an early end to Toronto’s gray, slushy winter is certainly welcome. Thanks, Willie! It seems pretty appropriate that we just had Groundhog Day, given that we're feeling a little bit like Bill Murray looking at the concert listings this week. Not only is there very little going on, but most of the bands who are playing seem to be here every week (Apostle of Hustle, The Tragically Hip, Hostage Life, Friendly Rich). Thus, we have nothing left to say about them! So if you've already seen these......

Or for some, it could be all about the 1993 classic starring Bill Murray about a crazy day that repeats itself over and over and over again. But to Fort York, Groundhog Day is going to......

If you’re looking for a charitable alternative to your customary Groundhog Day festivities this Friday, the Steam Whistle Brewing Company will be home to Weaselpalooza, a party for the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund. Benefiting the recipients of music therapy (including kids with physical and developmental challenges, the aged, and those in hospice), the event will feature live karaoke with members of White Cowbell Oklahoma, DJs, a silent auction, and beer. Lots of beer. If......

While Punxsutawney Phil, having played a bit role in the fine B. Murray vehicle Groundhog Day, is a bit more famous world-wide, Canada's own contribution to Whistle-Pig weather divination resieds only 120 km from Toronto in Wiarton. Here's what a hog named Wiarton Willie had to say: Willie’s shadow did not appear Which means springtime is almost here The time of year when flowers grow When we finally see the end of snow Though Wiarton......
