Tonight, the Horseshoe Tavern plays host to the Pitchfork/Secretly Canadian Indie Rock Triple-Header. This is a chance to see three awesome bands you've probably never heard of... but who everyone will be talking about in a few months. If you want to get ahead of the curve, read on.

Mystique Lounge are now entertaining to the sounds of Bloc Party, Arcade Fire and Franz Ferdinand. (Not all independent artists per se, but still falling under that catch-all phrase, "indie")

The WSFF's program of not oft seen music videos is always a good time, even if it's not always true - it can be a bit annoying to pay good money to see Franz Ferdinand's latest onscreen, when you have indeed seen it on Much ad nauseum. But, for the most part, Scene Not Heard offers up little seen gems. This year, we're curious about Howie Beck's video. To wit: 'A nebbish dance floor neophyte aims to conquer his darkest fears by embarking on a regimen of hard core urban/jazz dance training.'

After a tiring day of people watching and celeb spotting we headed over to local jeweler Sarah Rocks who opened her studio doors for a gem of a sale.  There was lots to choose from including semi-precious necklaces, earrings and bracelets, but TOist opted for her popular feathered pins 

Brit-pop has officially become a legitimate cultural subset in Toronto. The Anglo-affectionate crowd already has several successful music nights (Dance Cave, Labyrinth Lounge, or anything involving DJ Mark Holmes), clothing stores (FCUK, Vespa, anywhere that sells Ben Sherman), and now a publication.
