The CBC points out that three people were murdered in a matter of hours this Sunday. First, a man was run over and then hacked to death by machete. Second, a 22-year old man was found by his parents in their backyard. Third, a man was found shot in the head in a Parkdale rooming house.

Mayoral Candidate Jane Pitfield is as fed up with the shenanigans at the TTC committee as we are but we think her idea of appointing members of the public to the committee is even worse. Pitfield wants four out of the nine members of the committee to be drawn from the public. On one hand we could get someone like James Bow on the TTC on the other hand we could get someone who is an SUV driving, bus hating idiot. More importantly, if we're having this much trouble reining in people we elected what's it gonna be like when we start dealing with people who are appointed?

Howard Moscoe's big mouth strikes again. According to the Star this time his target was Frances Nunziata. When the councillor complained about bus service in her ward the TTC chair quipped ""Councillor, I leave walking the streets to you." Nunziata felt that the remarks painted her as a prostitute. Moscoe later apologized. Moscoe seems to be a big hit with the women of council, earlier this year he insulted both Jane Pitfield and Karen Stintz when he organized a tongue-in-cheek office poll asking "How far will Lady Jane go?"

Have you looked at City Council lately? Rob Ford? Denzil Minnan-Wong?! Frances Nunziata?!! Surely there must be better people out there, people that won't make us roll our eyes everytime we watch council by debating the merits of peanuts in city vending machines, or name calling fellow councillors.
