At 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, Stephen Harper will mosey from 24 Sussex over to Rideau Hall to get permission (albeit a simple technicality) from Governor General Michaëlle Jean to dissolve the 39th Parliament. And here we go again…

Federal Liberal leader Stéphane Dion hints that Canadians may be ready for a federal election this fall. Still, Dion is hoping to receive a signed, notarized affidavit from every single Canadian of voting age assuring him that they are absolutely, 100 percent cool with having an election; otherwise it's off.

Bob Rae and Martha Hall-Findlay win seats for the Liberals in federal by-elections. Downside: oh, God, Bob Rae. Upside: commenters will have to wait until the next federal election to bitch and moan about Torontoist contributor and Green Party candidate Chris Tindal's column (Chris finished in third place, with only thirty-six fewer votes than NDP candidate El-Farouk Khaki in the Toronto Centre riding).
