Excuse me for the lateness of this week’s listing. I’m still on Nuit Blanche time. And yes, I made it until 7am. This is an absolutely fantastic week for word nerds. And check this – if one of your friends is more into sports, you can bring them to a literary event disguised as a boxing match. For a boxing fan like me, it doesn't get any better.

Tonight Pontiac Quarterly unleashes its second issue this year at The Drake Hotel (8pm). For those of you unfamiliar, PQ is a performance magazine where writers read their fiction, feature stories - even advice columns - on stage in front of a live audience. Coming around only four times a year (it's right there in the title!), The Torontoist looks forward to it like our mom looks forward to gardening season.

It's not Canada-Russia '72 but did that mythical series have an awesome indie rock soundtrack? No, didn't think so. Today marks the start of the annual Exclaim! Hockey Summit. More than 20 teams made up of some of Canada's rock royalty. Thankfully Nickelback won't be there. Although I'm sure many would love to beat Chad Kroeger on the ice, we'd also have to deal with their set at Lee's Palace.
