Before their renovations, eye magazine described the Cloak as "snug, dark and replete with some of the best microbrew available on tap...it practically taunts you into using the word 'unpretentious' to describe it." And that was before the overhaul! After the re-design, the Cloak and Dagger Pub (394 College St) is this city's coziest pub.

The Cloak and Dagger Pub, sometimes referred to as a "nice little pub," other times called the only legitimate pub on the College Street strip, is going under heavy renovations in the next few weeks. Under new leadership, the Smoke and Swagger will take on a brand new look for the winter, which includes a modified bar and a backyard patio. Although a backyard patio is four months and a smoking ban too late for some, it's better late than never. It's also better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. (Just something to keep in mind). This comes after months of speculation that the pub would expand its patio or at least buy a new door stop.

collr.gifGood news! You aren't the only one getting wider. To accommodate more patios, pedestrians and bike lanes, the city is making the sidewalks on College Street a little fatter. The walkway has become especially bloated on the north side of the street between Spadina and Bathurst. The aim of the expanded sidewalk is so that four people can link arms and skip down to the Cloak and Dagger Pub.

Everyone is a bit sluggish and fat after such a nice holiday, so excuse our tardiness. You might not realise it, but you are probably much fatter than you were a month ago. Torontoist is not ashamed to say we got fat. But it's okay, all our fat went to our booty. On the subject of booty's, you can shake yours tonight at the Cloak and Dagger Pub (394 College), where the Mercredi Mixtape extends late into the night to become L'après-heures Mixtape. Enjoy the selections today, fatty.
