With an imminent date for her deportation set, Wendy Maxwell has now gone on hunger strike. Officials have said that Maxwell will be deported to Costa Rica on March 14th. According to the release, "Wendy faces serious risk from a dangerous Costa Rican gang which she has had dealings with in the past. This despite having an application for landed status filed with Immigration Canada that has yet to be adjudicated." Costa Rican gangs sound......

Protesters flooded Toronto Police Headquarters near Yonge and College yesterday to campaign for Wendy Maxwell, a community activist from Costa Rica. Last Saturday, 51 Division officers busted up the International Women's Day Fair at Ryerson University to arrest Ms Maxwell on charges related to immigration procedure.
