PHOTOGRAPHY: Georgette Peters has been photographing the elaborate bicycle bell creations of Toronto cyclists this year. She shares her tiny finds with us in her new "Does This Ring a Bell" exhibit opening at Side Space Gallery today. Clay and Paper Theatre make an appearance at the opening with performances of Bicycle Revolution Cantastoria at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Side Space Gallery (1080 St. Clair Avenue West), 3–6 p.m., FREE.

Toronto’s DIY fashionistas, independent designers, eclectic personalities and thrift store scavengers get a chance to flaunt the city’s indie fashion credentials this Wednesday at the Cadillac Lounge.

A couple of Sunday night events to kick-off or end your week, depending on how you see it. Gypsy Eyes, who is all over the place this week, hosts Last Call Poets at the Cadillac Lounge – 1296 Queen W. – tonight at 8pm. Admission is $7.

Taddle Creek, one of our favourite local literary journals, is having a launch party tomorrow night at the Cadillac Lounge. The launch party promises a barbecue on the spacious back patio of the Cadillac, popsicles and of course authors galore. Doors 8pm.

Katrina Onstad and Leah McLaren aren't the only female Toronto journalists penning autobiographically inspired works of literature. The insightful Lynn Crosbie is releasing her much anticipated new book Liar. Excerpts that Torontoist has read left us thinking about our own failed relationships, on the nature of love, betrayal and the cruelties that men and women inflict on each other. Perfect when you're sick and tired of watching cheesy rom-coms. The inspiration for this heavy new work is apparently a fellow poet and editor who Torontoist thinks might have a hard time getting dates in the next few years.

Canada's most confusingly named magazine launches their summer issue at the Cadillac Lounge tonight (1296 Queen Street W).
