Gate House goes coed. After a series of puerile, childish, vaguely misogynistic stunts, the infamous all-male U of T residence has been come down upon by that stuffy old dean. Of note is Gate House's claim to be an inspiration for the movie , just like every other "look at us we're so wild" frat house on every college campus ever, despite the fact that Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis went to McMaster.

We don’t think we’ve ever lead with the same film two weeks in a row, but there’s a first time for everything. Did you get a chance to see Blade Runner: The Final Cut this week? We did. It was amazing. We really can’t think of a film we’d rather lead with (and there’s some good stuff this week). If you didn’t get a chance to see it, consider yourself massively lucky, because it’s still on at the Regent. Basically, you have to see it. It’s a cinema experience that you’ll regret missing for the rest of your life, probably.

Tut tut tut. We’re all very disappointed in you, John Krasinski, for your decision to star in License to Wed. Sure, you’ve been working so hard to build up your hipster cred—interviewing the Shins, playing on stage with Ben Gibbard, but I’m afraid we might have to revoke your hipster privileges.

A report released yesterday by the Conference Board of Canada raised an alarm that Canada is in the doldrums when it comes to innovation. But after discovering this poster (at right) on the bulletin board at the Valu Pet Store at College and Augusta, the suggestion our society is failing to innovate seems mistaken.

The city is full of high society soirées such as the Brazilian Ball, the Power Ball, and Fashion Cares. Which is fine for the jet set, but the rest-of-us set also likes to get dolled up once in a while. Which is why Gallery TPW is inviting everybody to the D-List Ball this Saturday at 56 Ossington Avenue. The fund raiser will be hosted by Keith Cole and features musical entertainments by Karl Lagerfeld's Ponytail, Black Turtleneck, Will Munro and Jon Sasaki as well as a performance by Darren O'Donnell. There are also lots of prizes including a little something for the best ensemble of the evening. Tickets are $20, which according to Gallery TPW, makes it a fancy pants event that even artists can afford to attend.

When people first hear the words "Professional Pillow Fight League," they often conjure images of jello-wrestling and hair pulling. However, if you've ever been to a Pillow Fight League event, you know that the fights are real, they're violent, and they're bloody entertaining.

Perhaps you can best describe it as a scavenger hunt with a lot of creative freedom.

He pretty much invented the mash up phenomenon with his Hollertronix partner Low Budget. His live sets bride gaps from Brazilian Baile Funk to almost forgotten 80's classics to Southern Crunk. Dance floors swerve, careen and generaly go buck wild when he's in control of the decks. He's known as Diplo to most and Wes to his mom Ms. Pentz. He's performing at The Mod Club tonight for $15 and he's gonna make it sick. Brrrrrrp!!

The Sorauren Park Festival is happening this Saturday. The party starts at noon with Maracatu Nunca Antes marching from Fern Avenue Public School. Because what’s a community party without a Brazilian marching band, really?

In the year that the popularity of the ringtone might have outweighed the popularity of the single, Toronto-I-S-T comes up with the top ten songs that mattered in 2005.
