Linger around any movie theatre exit during the Toronto International Film Festival and the only question you'll hear more than "What did you see?" is "Who?" And yes, there were star sightings aplenty these past ten days. You could have brought binoculars, packed apples and trail mix, and camped outside the Royal Elgin or the Four Seasons, waiting hours on end for a brief glimpse of the back of Michael Cera's head (your fourteen-year-old sister is a huge fan, of course). But for those of you with better things to do on a Tuesday night (uh, new season of 90210? Anyone? Anyone?), we've compiled and captioned a smattering of celebrity snapshots from the Torontoist Flickr Pool. Enjoy!

Seriously, who cares about Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt or George Clooney or Ben Affleck or whoever? Jerry Seinfeld––one of the greatest comedians, one of the greatest television actors, and owner of 47 Porsches––is coming to Toronto on Wednesday. He'll be at the Manulife Centre (55 Bloor Street West) at 9:45 a.m. to promote Bee Movie, the new animated movie that he directs and stars in.

Festival fever is sweeping the city—after all, it’s that time of year. But, perhaps incredibly, there are people for whom Brad Pitt sightings and red carpet galas just aren’t worth the Ben Mulroney-sized hype. What, for example, is the ardent audiophile to do in this landscape of visual media tyranny?

Though Brad Pitt might be sitting this one out, the Toronto After Dark Film Festival just unveiled the first seven of fourteen feature premieres for their critically acclaimed horror/fantasy fest. Now entering its second year, the current lineup includes (wait for it) David Arquette's horror film debut as writer/director, The Tripper (starring Paul Reubens, Jason Mewes, Lukas Haas, etc). As if that wasn't a sufficient enough reason to grab tickets, other flicks include the highly anticipated new zombie musical from Troma Films' Lloyd Kaufman (Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead) and the most expensive Russian fantasy film ever made (The Wolfhound). Also, a new sci-fi animation from Korea (Aachi & Ssipak, whose IMDB entry reads "In a future where energy is made from fecal matter...small-time hustlers try to get rich while fending off the mutated Diaper Gang"), two critically acclaimed new zombie outbreak films (Mulberry Street and Automaton Transfusion) and an award-winning documentary about one priest's attempt to shoot a Christian version of Star Wars (Audience Of One). Yes, sir. Torontoist is excited.

Chances are if you are a pervert, an intellectual, or a writer, then you are very familiar with the works of Chuck Palahniuk. The author of "Invisible Monsters", "Choke", and the cult classic "Fight Club" will be in town tonight to sign copies of his new book, "Rant: The Oral History of Buster Casey."

but not actually meaningful.

Ok, so the city is in the grip of full-blown festival mania. Red carpets, Gala screenings, and celebrity sightings are all great, but so are poetry readings, right? Right? Anyone???

Back To School* Cheat Sheet:

We're only just back from today's TIFFG press conference at Nathan Phillips Square, where (finally) all the films of the festival were announced, and, of course, all the stars who will be attending with their films. We're currently pouring over the press releases to give you a nice round up of what has been announced (stay tuned!) so we'll leave you right now with this nice picture of what to expect from the festival, as we let you know about the only thing anyone cares about:

First off, two thoughts.

Although nothing to do with Toronto, or anything that happens in it, Torontoist thought it important to note that Brad Pitt and the Welsh three-piece McLusky have split up. Pitt said he would remain "committed and caring friends," but will still be having phone sex with Angelina Jolie. McLusky's last visit to Toronto in the summer will now be McLusky's last visit to Toronto ever. As for "phone sex," Torontoist is curious why anyone would choose to have sex with his or her phone. Wouldn't things get a bit awkward after the fact?
