Despite loud public complaints, Toronto City Council has begrudgingly approved Astral Media's street furniture bid with a few conditions: reduce the total amount of per square foot advertising, guarantee that all billboards follow city bylaws, estimate how much energy will be used illuminating advertisements, and ensure there is no loophole in the contract which would allow Astral to screw the city over.

Eye weekly ran a huge article on NDPer Peter Tabuns, who's running to fill Marilyn Churley's vacant Queen's Park seat in Toronto Danforth. So we thought we'd even up the score a little bit by mentioning the Liberal candidate, Ben Chin. After getting axed at Toronto1 the former CBCer became the PR guy for the premier, but Chin, a long-time prominent journalist, car lover and son of political refugees is arguably a star candidate.

Depuis quelque temps, les journaux écrivent sur eux, on en entend parler à la radio et même dans les émissions de télévision. C’est un phénomène en pleine effervescence. Le Torontoist en est un. Le dictionnaire Robert ne le cite toujours pas. Mais quoi de mieux qu’un petit historique pour bien comprendre ce qu’est le phénomène du blogue ?
