ART: Kris Knight’s new paintings suggest to us what might happen if the cast of Blue Velvet turned up at our cottage at the end of November, intending to stay. His new exhibit “Farewell Log Cabin” turns the clock back to the winter season, a time when cabin fever sets in like an old sock on the collective Canadian soul. Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects hosts the opening reception tonight for this disturbing and beautiful solo show, on until July 18 at the gallery. Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects (1082 Queen Street West), 6–9 p.m., FREE.

MUSIC: There comes a time in every band's career when they bid farewell to their fanbase and stop playing shows forever. Tonight, that band is Shitt Hottt, who are having their last hurrah at the Horseshoe Tavern. It's not just a goodbye show—they'll also be releasing their new (and final) EP, The Low Five. There will be a free giveaway of Shitt Hottt collectors items including t-shirts, CDs, and handjobs from band members. Did we mention they're not even the headliners? Yeah, this is actually a show for Mint Records band The Pack A.D., and The Speaking Tongues and The Schomberg Fair will also be playing sets. It's gonna be crazy! Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West), 9 p.m., $8.

"What do you want to sell at my market?" demands a flustered, head-scarved Kealan Sullivan, 69 Vintage owner and entrepreneur extraordinaire. "You want to sell cupcakes? Sure. Homemade ice cream? Sure. Old records? Sure. Just not vintage clothes... because, you know, I do that already. Antique clothes? Sure."

When Kealan Sullivan was 22, she never wore the same thing twice. The 69 Vintage owner would throw together an outfit at Value Village, trash it on the town, and toss it in her closet at the end of the night, never to see the flash of a camera again.
