Historicist: A Perfect Crime, Forgotten

"We're completely in the dark," a Trans-Canada Air Lines official admitted after thieves took gold bullion from Malton Airport in 1952 in a seemingly perfect and still-unsolved caper.

On the evening of September 24, 1952, $215,000 worth of gold bullion was stolen at Malton Airport. The heist—which, at the time, was the largest gold robbery in Canadian history—involved no threat of violence and no gun play. In fact, no one had even seen stick-up/hold-up men.
Truck Stolen from Daily Bread Food Bank

Get ready to think less of humanity. Someone stole a Daily Bread Food Bank truck carrying the message "Fighting Hunger" last night, according to a report from CityNews. The truck, worth $150,000 and paid for entirely by donations, was used to transport food to people in need around the GTA. It's suspected that whoever broke into the food bank's facility at 191 New Toronto Street also stole GPS devices. Until their insurance claim clears, the food bank, which helps 73,000 people each month, will have to rent a truck to compensate for the stolen one.

But this time of year is also a busy season for fraudsters, who love to take advantage of people's holiday forgetfulness. Paying by debit is one of the easiest ways of paying for your goods, but it's the easiest to compromise. We know several people who have had thousands of dollars drained from their...
