Recipe for Success

So right, in fact, we’re surprised it doesn’t happen much more often. Food fundraisers—the ones that tout starred chefs, boast dozens of snacking and drinking choices, raise money for food banks and related charities, and come with triple-digit ticket [...]

This holiday fundraiser supports the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank and has set a goal this year of $35,000. Besides raising money for a great cause, there will be DJs, [...]

Favourite Moments from Power Ball 13

Amidst clouds of smoke and litres of cocktails, the oversold Power Ball 13 saw the Power Plant transformed by international artists and the chatter of Toronto's (aspiring) best dressed. From light installations to fridges full of sound, the geniuses behind the Power Ball are the hardworking installation crew—though they're not the ones who usually make the papers the next day. Headed by Paul Zingrone, they labour to bring the Plant new life time and time again, not just for the parties but for the art exhibitions too.

Gourmet food in the name of alleviating hunger. It’s a bit of a high-wire act, the fine-dining food fundraiser.
Massive Letdown

We were, perhaps, a little naive, held out hopes a little too high. But can you blame us? We were promised a glittering, highlight-of-the-year fête, whimsically conceived and executed with flair. What we got instead felt, more or less, like the Guvernment, only twenty years older and several tax brackets richer. Welcome to Massive Party, [...]

Honouring its nineteenth year, the event raised $250,000 in just one night—enough to provide 500,000 meals for people in need. Torontoist was lucky to snag a [...]
