PhotoTO: Song for Africa on August 15, 2006

Last night, we attended the Song for Africa Launch Party at the Drake Underground. The idea for the song was the brainchild of music producer Darcy Ataman (McMaster and James, Kalen Porter, Kyle Riabko) who gathered a variety of Canadian talent for the project. Bike Across Canada on August 14, 2006

Over the weekend, we had a chance to meet up with Jason Shim and Kylie Hicklenton who are biking across Canada to raise money for Aids, more specifically bike ambulances in Africa. Scarborough Ribfest on August 8, 2006

This past weekend we checked out Scarborough Ribest at Thomson Memorial Park. With 9 ribbers cookin up a storm, there was enough ribs for everyone. A personal favourite was the ribs from Camp 31, who had the most saucy, biggest and sweetest ribs around. The city of Toronto launched its pilot Bike Locker program yesterday at two locations: 16 at City Hall and 6 at the Exhibition GO station for a total of 22 lockers. For 10 dollars a month (4 month minimum) you can rent one of these lockers to keep your bike safe and secure from theft and even the elements. It's good to see that City Hall is promoting cycling, especially in its own neighbourhood.... [continue]

In a strange turn of events, Canadian media heartthrob, George Stroumboulopoulos confirms that he has signed on to the new ABC reality show, The ONE: Making a Music Star which debuts on July 18th. Idea in Stone on June 28, 2006
