Do you have so much creativity bubbling up inside that you need to share it with the world? Well, you’re in luck—it’s time for Shab-e She’r (Poetry Night) XVIII, an open-mic night for poetry and music. Bring your courage and your creations, or just show up to take in the talents of featured performers Vanessa McGowan, a spoken word artist and singer/songwriter; and straight-edge street-punk poet Josh Smith.
Are you mentally prepared to be in the presence of greatness? If so, come out to Art Battle 142, the last live painting qualification round before the finals take place in June. Watch as 24 young painters create a unique piece of art in just 20 minutes. Attendees are encouraged to circulate through the room to observe the creative process, before casting their vote for the winner. All pieces will be auctioned off later in the evening.
