Section of Line 1 will be closed for signal upgrades and track work.
The TTC will once again be upgrading its nearly 60-year-old signal system this weekend, and that means no subway service on Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) between Bloor and Eglinton stations.
Frequent shuttle buses will run between the two stations during the closure, and Wheel-Trans service will be available to accommodate customers who use wheelchairs, scooters, and other mobility aids. The TTC is recommending that people looking to visit the CNE or catch a Blue Jays game leave themselves extra time to get there.
The long process of replacing the TTC’s ancient signal system with a new Automatic Train Control system is expected to pay off in improved reliability.
Subway service will be back to normal on Monday, August 25 at 6 a.m.
