We've got a spot free for a listings writer.
You already read us. You love Toronto. And you love words. Clearly, you should join our roster of contributors as an Urban Planner, to help research and write our daily event listings.
If you’re wondering whether Torontoist is a good fit for you:
Check out our Contribute page to find out more about what we can offer you and what we’re looking for in all of our contributors. (You can ignore the “What We Want When You Apply” section of that page, though.)
More about Urban Planners:
Urban Planner is our hand-picked daily event-listings feature, published every weekday and in a weekend edition on Friday afternoons. We also maintain an ongoing event calendar (which you can see over there in the sidebar at right), using those same listings. Urban Planners need to not only be strong writers but also extremely organized and tuned-in collators, people who can curate effectively and give Torontoist‘s readers the best to-do list in the city. The column is evenly split between several people; you’d write listings two days a week. It’s fun, and it’s a core position, essential to keeping our readers informed about all the great stuff happening in the city.
What we want when you apply:
Tell us about yourself, and why you’re interested in the position. Then, give us a demo day of listings: pick a day in the near future, and write an Urban Planner post as though you already had the job. (You don’t need to worry about the image for the post, mind you.)
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with “Urban Planner” in the subject line. Please get your submissions in by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 1. We promise to look at and reply to every single one.
