Where will you be on the first weekend of June?
Yeah, June 2014. Sure, it’s a little early to be making plans for next summer, but there are some warm-weather activities that are worth thinking about waaay in advance.
And what could be worthier of a little advance consideration than the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer?
The annual two-day bike ride—now entering its seventh year—benefits The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, a Toronto institution that’s considered one of the world’s leading cancer research centres. Participants can choose from seven different routes of travel between Toronto and Niagara Falls, and trust us: the Southern Ontario landscape is a lot more picturesque when you’re not looking at it from behind the windshield of a car. Plus, you get catered meals and massages. Beat that, QEW.
Last year’s ride raised $19.1 million, for a total of $99.3 million over the past six years. Funds raised are powering Personalized Cancer Medicine at The Princess Margaret, and enabling top researchers to advance treatments and buy needed equipment.
Registration is open. And riders who recruit other riders on or before October 2 get free stuff. So there’s that, too.
