- There’s now an official trailer for the shot-in-Toronto Robocop remake, and if you squint really hard you can just make out a few recognizable locations. We’ve spotted Harbord and Grace Streets (1:38), King’s College Road (1:41), and what looks like the Hearn Generating Station (1:20). The trailer is embedded above.
- And speaking of movies, the Toronto International Film Festival continues to attract interest from the international press. The Hollywood Reporter has a nice little explanation of the tax breaks and other perks that lure blockbuster productions like Robocop to Toronto in the first place.
- Torstar, the Toronto Star‘s parent company, has just shut down TorStar Digital, its new-media arm. It looks as though TorStar Digital’s properties, like WagJag and Workopolis, will be unaffected, but Marketing reports that there have been some layoffs.
