- Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti (Ward 7, York West), who abruptly resigned from Mayor Rob Ford’s executive committee the same day Ford was removed from office by a judge, has all but assuredly managed to get his old seat back. They say loyalty is one of the most important things in politics. Maybe they’re wrong.
- For this year’s Nuit Blanche, the TTC is going to be selling a special day pass for people planning to stay up all night. $10.75 will get you and a friend (and up to four children) unlimited travel between the start of service on October 5 and 9 a.m. the next day.
- Toronto Life (which is owned by Torontoist‘s parent company, St. Joseph Media), has been given notice of libel by York University. At issue is an article in which the magazine refers to the school as “a hunting ground for sexual predators.”
