- To better position itself alongside the likes of Tim Hortons and McDonald’s, Second Cup is updating its interior design, starting with its store at King and Bathurst Streets. For those of us who like our coffee and fast food in dumpy surroundings, though, there will always be Coffee Time.
- Mayor Rob Ford is pushing hard for a by-election to replace former deputy mayor Doug Holyday, who was elected to Queen’s Park earlier this month. Metro‘s Matt Elliott thinks Ford is being opportunistic, and that council should just appoint a replacement for Holyday, instead.
- Meanwhile, over at the Grid, Edward Keenan isn’t so sure an appointment is the way to go.
