- Police Chief Bill Blair announced earlier this afternoon that retired Supreme Court Justice Frank Iacobucci will be taking over the Toronto Police Service’s internal review of its practices following the shooting death of Sammy Yatim. Retired Associate Chief Justice of Ontario Dennis O’Connor, who had been announced as the investigation lead a couple weeks ago, stepped down on Wednesday because of concerns that his law firm is a little too cozy with police.

- Speaking of planes, Bombardier is reportedly on the verge of test flying its new CSeries jet for the first time. This is the type of aircraft Porter Airlines is seeking permission to use at the island airport.
