- Have you seen this column where the Star‘s Rosie DiManno admits to having tried and loved heroin and then somehow segues into an argument for keeping marijuana illegal in Canada because it’s “stupid” and maybe bad for you? The entire heroin anecdote seems to serve no purpose except to establish that pot is somehow beneath Rosie DiManno, because the drugs she did were way cooler—but we don’t know, judge for yourselves.
- Tomorrow’s a big day for the Sun News Network. The CRTC is expected to decide whether the right-wing cable station deserves “mandatory carriage” status. If Sun News gets the CRTC’s blessing, Canada’s cable and satellite subscribers will each have to pay a few pennies a month for the channel, whether they watch it or not.
- James Gray, former keyboardist for Toronto’s own Blue Rodeo, died after an apparent heart attack on Monday. He was 52 years old.
