Introducing the Torontoist Event Calendar

torontoist event listings

You, dear Toronto-loving readers, like doing fun, interesting things in this city of ours. And we like telling you about them. For several years now we’ve done that every morning, with a curated list of the day’s best events, in a post called Urban Planner. And while Urban Planner is excellent in many ways, it comes with this one significant drawback: it doesn’t give you a whole lot of notice about things you might want to, ahem, plan ahead for. In fact, the last time we did a readership survey and asked you what you would most want to change about Torontoist, this was by far the most common suggestion: tell you about events earlier in advance.

Which brings us to our brand new events calendar. You can see it just at right, in our sidebar, and we’re pretty excited about it. We’ve stocked it with events for the whole month of March, and we’ll keep adding things as soon as we find out about them. In short: as soon as we know about an interesting thing, you will know about that interesting thing, and can plan accordingly.

You can click on any day to see a list of everything that’s happening, and click on any individual item to get its complete details. You can also view events by venue, or by category. Weeks of fun, all in one place! The listings are still curated—with so much happening in the city our goal is to shine a spotlight on the best events rather than publish absolutely everything—and for the traditionalists among you, they’ll also still be available in Urban Planner, which we will continue to post every morning.

Happy planning!

Putting Saturday and Sunday together at the end of the row is kind of disorienting.

      But it’s ISO 8601-compliant!

If ISO 2014 was good enough for my father, it’s good enough for me.
