No need for a spring election, NDP leader maintains.
“[I'm] not clamouring for an election… I’m prepared to work with anybody.”
—Provincial NDP leader Andrea Horwath (Hamilton Centre) to reporters at Queen’s Park today. Unlike PC leader Tim Hudak (Niagara West-Glanbrook), who has issued a series of campaign-style policy announcements recently, Horwath said she’s not set on having a spring election. Many observers have been expecting that the minority Liberal government will fall soon after the party chooses a successor to premier Dalton McGuinty. The Grits will do that at their convention, scheduled for January 25–27.
