Extra, Extra: Subway Magnets, Donald S. Cherry, and the Lockout

Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

  • Our friends at Spacing are merchandising geniuses, as the video above attests. Now you don’t have be a city councillor to make up subway schemes that stand little chance of ever coming to fruition. All you need is a fridge.
  • “Donald S. Cherry” wrote an op-ed on the NHL lockout for the Star. If his previous writings on current events are anything to go by, this thing was either heavily edited, transcribed from tape, or both. It does, at least, articulate a coherent point of view: that the players are blaming the wrong people, and that they’re being disrespectful.
  • Speaking of the NHL lockout, it looks like more than a third of the hockey season is now officially a total write-off.
