TIFF ’12 Reviews: Sci-Fi Meets Non-Fi
We look at some thrilling sci-fi yarns and some richly informative non-fiction tales.
Wondering how to navigate the torrent of films? Our growing list of TIFF reviews is right here.
They say that truth is stranger than fiction. But, when you think about it, the notion of hunting down your future-self whilst riding a hoverbike is also pretty out-there. We survey some fest selections in the non-fiction and science-fiction genres, and notice some unsettling parallels between the fascistic future-justice of Dredd 3D and the outrageous railroading of The Central Park Five. We also look at TIFF ’12 opener Looper, which is pretty terrific for a change.
