Extra, Extra: Rob Ford’s Canada, Tomorrow’s Toronto, and Today’s Subway Tunnels

- This Hour Has 22 Minutes has started its new season. We’ve been told that tonight’s episode will feature a couple sketches related to Mayor Rob Ford, including one that skewers his now-infamous confusion over the location of Manitoba. A screenshot of “Rob Ford’s Canada,” as imagined by the 22 Minutes writers’ room, is above. The show airs on CBC at 8:30 p.m.
- A 17-year-old kid has created some amazing 3D renderings of what Toronto will look like in 2020.
- Momofuku’s Toronto outpost is finally open, to the delight of Canadian foodies. Unfortunately, just like paperbacks and dairy products, a lot of stuff is more expensive there than it is in the States.
- Now that some intrepid explorers have managed to sneak into the Spadina Subway Extension construction site with a camera, Torontonians can gaze upon brand-new subway tunnels for the first time in a long time.
