Extra, Extra: Grab Your Brews and iPhones and Take this Subway Quiz

Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

Photo by {a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/doitintheroad/4170225949/"}the camera is a toy{/a} from the {a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/torontoist"}Torontoist Flickr Pool{/a}.

  • Think you know your subway stations? Spacing took enigmatic photos of every single one and put them in a quiz, to test your TTC chops.
  • Amsterdam Brewery is moving from Bathurst to Leaside, where it’ll have a large new space for events. Perhaps more exciting: they are also going to open a new brewpub: 900 seats on the water, right by Harbourfront.
  • Apple unveiled the latest version if its iPhone today, which will feature a bigger screen and the capacity to teleport you to Mars. It will be available in Canada very soon: online pre-orders start Friday, and retail locations begin selling the phone September 21.

I’m new to this feed. But curious as to what the new iPhone has to do with ‘Toronto, transtit … and everything Toronto’. Is Apple a major funder for the Torontoist? Just curious, as I like my news to be neutral and unbiased.

Nope – no financial relationship whatsoever. Just the sort of thing it seemed likely our readers, many of whom are heavy mobile users, would care about. (Some things happen just in Toronto; some happen more broadly, but affect people here too.)

I should note: it’s possible Apple has bought ads on the site. I genuinely have no idea – the ad sales department doesn’t tell editors what ad buys are in the works. -HD

OK, that is good to know, as I do appreciate a publication reporting Toronto information which I wouldn’t find in more mainstream feeds. I look forward to hearing your support on major Android news as it comes up, as mathematically, this would make up about 68% of your mobile audience. Balance is a good thing.

You know there are people in Toronto that like the Apple brand. A few own Macs and and a few own iPhones. And many have been dreaming of the day they can teleport to Mars.
