Extra, Extra: Freshmen, Ford Fest, and Subway Disruptions

Every weekday’s end, Extra, Extra collects just about everything you ought to care about or ought not miss.

• U of T’s engineering school is in the middle of its frosh week. If you didn’t dye yourself purple and try to cram yourself into a bus shelter along with 30 of your new best friends, you missed out.
• Another thing you won’t want to miss out on: Ford Fest. The mayor’s annual backyard barbeque is happening tonight, and everyone is invited. The details are here. For a sense of how epic it will probably be, you can check out the CBC’s article on the preparations, or our article from last year.
• Also, beware: there will be no subway service between Union and St. Andrew Stations this weekend. The trains will start running again at 6 a.m. on Monday.
